Mary Wilhelmina Hildre

Mary W. Emerson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on October 21, 2015 at her home in Reno.

A native of Petersburg, N.D., she was born on November 28, 1929 to Conrad and Doris Hildre. She was married to Edwin V. Emerson in 1949 in Reno, Nevada. They resided in Herlong, Calif. until they moved to Reno in 1958. Mary loved her role as a homemaker and spent hours involved in her children's activities and volunteering at St. Albert's church. She later worked at Holy Child Day Home and at Wooster High School.

Upon the death of her husband Edwin in 1985, Mary obtained her insurance license and assumed ownership of the family business, Emerson Insurance Agency, until she retired in 2002. She loved attending her grandchildren's sports events, lunching monthly with friends, volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, following her favorite sports teams, spending time with her family and dabbling in her hobby of painting.

Survivors include daughters Dede Goodnight/John, Eileen Grein/Ken, Ed Emerson/Val, John Emerson/Jackie Emerson, sister in law Marion Recanzone, Judy Emerson, and brother in law Dale Egbert as well as ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Connie Novack and Flo Egbert, in laws Vurnis and Anna Emerson, Delmotte and Dallas Williams, Mario Recanzone, and Marco Novack.
